BMW Light vision

The GINA Light Visionary Model is a fabric-skinned shape-shifting sports car concept built by BMW. GINA stands for "Geometry and functions In 'N' Adaptations". It was designed by a team led by BMW’s head of design, Chris Bangle, who says GINA allowed his team to "challenge existing principles and conventional processes." Other designers include Anders Warming.

BMW said the flexible, stretchable water resistant translucent man-made fabric skin – polyurethane-coated Spandex, is resilient and durable. It resists high or low temperatures, does not swell or shrink and the movement does not slacken or damage the fabric. The body changes its shape according to exterior conditions and speeds, and it also allows the driver to change its shape at will. The fabric is stretched over a moveable frame essential shapes are formed beneath the skin by an aluminium wire structure, though at points where movement is needed (ducts, door openings, spoiler) flexible carbon struts are used. The shape of the frame is controlled by many electric and hydraulic actuators, for example, the headlights are revealed when small motors pull the fabric back in an eyelid like fashion. As the fabric is translucent the taillights shine through it.

Volkswagen Rocca

Concept Cars can have really crazy design and most of them vary in a spectrum whose one end is unrealistic future models that need no roads to move around and the other end is old ripped off car remakes that still seem to be stuck in the late 70’s.

Designing a concept car is by no means easy and it seems every designer is going out of his way to give it some unique feature that helps it stand out from the crowd.

The Volkswagen Rocca is another hallucination from a designer which will never come to life for sure. But its unique mix of metal with wood has really caught our eye and impressed us to an extent.

Flying Future Car

A flying car or roadable aircraft is an aircraft that can also travel along roads. All the working examples have required some manual or automated process of conversion between the two modes of operation.

A slightly different concept that is sometimes referred to as a 'Flying car', particularly in science fiction, is that of an aircraft that would be practical enough for every-day travel, but would not necessarily be drivable on the roads.

Future Car

Future car technologies include new energy sources and materials, which are being developed in order to make automobiles  more sustainable, safer, more energy efficient, or less polluting. Cars are being developed in many different ways.

Audi Shark Future Concept

The Audi Shark is a futuristic flying concept vehicle with a streamlined design inspired by motorcycles and airplanes. It was designed by Kazim Doku and won the Desire Competition by Domus Academy.

The two-seater flying sportscar is inspired by the world of motorclycles and airplanes and offers its passengers'strong sensations and high levels of safety'.

Both the headlights and the tail lights are made by transparent tubes which integrate LED units. The interior features sporty seats integrated in the cockpit structure.
